Why start a Community Garden?

Since home is where the heart is, it is also where gardens should grow! Where Gardens Grow is a non profit community garden organized and maintained by community members. Our mission is to empower residents with education in horticulture sciences, agriculture, and economic independence. The saying, ‘You are what you eat’ couldn’t be more than true. Knowing this we want to make sure that our families, friends, and neighbors are filled with adequate nutrients. A community garden does so much for a neighborhood. Spending time in the garden gives us an opportunity to connect with our neighbors, spend quality time with our families, and learn about the various cultures around us through food.

Please take our short survey

Surveys help us determine the need and desire for a community garden in an area. All responses are anonymous. Please share the survey with your neighbors, family, and anyone who wants to grow their own food. There are eleven questions and should take about five to six minutes to complete. If you're ready to reserve a garden plot add your name to Where Gardens Grow Community Garden Waiting List, please complete the form to your right.
